Agatha and Sophie

She was terrified.
She was petrified.
She couldn’t let her best friend die!

Sophie lay beside her,
Storian speared through her heart.
The war around her ceased,
But the war within her perpetuated.
She stared at Sophie,
At the witch who was a princess,
At the witch who had saved her life.

Agatha didn’t know what to do.
She didn’t know how to save her.
She wrapped her dying friend in her trembling arms.
And tried in vain to fight the staunch wound,
With a bed of tears.

Her friend didn’t deserve to die,
For with her last breath,
Agatha would cease to exist too.
Sophie’s eyes flickered with life.
Sobbing and shaking,
Agatha kissed Sophie’s cold forehead,
Hoping that the magic of love would take away the evil death which resided in her.

The dead ground wept.
And Sophie’s silent heart faded.
The bright blue Storian turned a dull grey,
And Sophie’s luminous skin allayed.

Her cheek was wet with Sophie’s blood,
But Agatha continued to cry,
Until the blood vanished.
Sophie’s dead heart lived.
And her spotless skin glowed.
The deadly red blood evaporated.
And the tinted soul returned.

“Sophie?” Agatha murmured with difficulty.
“Aggie!” Sophie answered with a faint yet lively enthusiasm.
They smiled.
“Who needs princes in our fairytale?”
Sophie exclaimed.

With the strong gush of wind,
The Storian blazed with new life,
And returned to its tower in the sky.

The two girls retreated.
Smiling at each other constantly,
Their bodies shimmered and shone,
Gradually turning translucent.
Tedros ran towards Agatha,
For he didn’t want to lose his princess.
But it was too late,
The eternal fairytale of the princess and witch,
Culminated without a prince.

Sophie

I had my board exams so didn't get a chance to write anything for a long time.  Finally, here I am:

The tinted soul stared at its tinted reflection.
Her reflection was stained with the bad memories that resided in her soul.
Her reflection showed her ghastly conscience.
It showed the bald-headed evil witch that resided in the blonde-haired pretty princess.
She wanted to be good,
But the truth of her sombre soul couldn't ombre with the colour of the lies the world told her.
Love had betrayed her.
So had her best friend.
 Love had only meant hate.
‎She stared again at the reflection that stood before her,
 ‎And let out a smile.
It took years for her to understand,
‎That she was her true love.
‎That only she could accept the light from her dark soul.
‎She loved just one thing truly, the thing which loved her back-
 ‎Her Mirror.

If Greg Heffley was Indian

Greg or Gregory Heffley is the main character of the famous Diary of a Wimpy Kid series by Jeff Kinney. I am a huge fan and have read all the books of the series. But I was just wondering what if Greg was Indian?

Let me start with a brief character sketch of Greg. Greg is selfish, lazy, petty, arrogant, egotistical, usually backstabbing, and sometimes even cruel and dishonest, who apparently lacks talent. He hardly has any skills aside from video games, and possibly singing. However, despite all this, Greg still has had his kind and caring moments, it's just that, it's not that often. He hates taking blame for anything, and would much rather take all the credit.

Firstly, if Greg was Indian, he wouldn’t be Greg. He would have a funnier name like Gadha Prasad, Genda Lal, Golu kumar, Gautama Wimpy (not Gambhir). He wouldn’t have a huge bungalow with a garage and all that cool stuff. He would live in a tiny-miny flat.  His elder brother Rodrick, who has his room in a garage, would not have one.

Greg hates Christmas, because you have to be at your best behaviour, or else Santa’s Scout will report your mischief to Santa. Most people in India are Hindus, so Greg could escape his “cursed Christmas”. India is a diverse country, so if he chooses Christianity, then his Christmas follows him. He has an advantage of choices in India, Holi, Diwali, Eid, Palkhi, Ganesh Chaturthi, etc. Greg could celebrate Holi, but  knowing the person he is, he wouldn’t like it. He is a lazy person and not very fun-loving, so Holi might become his new Christmas.

Greg wouldn’t get his beloved Pot Roast, because beef is ban in India. He would also eat our roti subji, dal chaval, pav bhaji, poha, upma, etc.

And lastly, Greg would dress up in kurta- pajamas. It would be kind of awkward to see him that way.

Everyone loves Greg, so I guess he is better the way he is. So Greg, you are awesome!

Swarg in School

I was reading a book on Indian mythology, Myth=Mithya*, by Devdutt Pattnaik, when this crazy idea came to my mind. What if school was swarg**? What if all our teachers and the subjects were all Gods ?

If I were to make our school heaven, Indra, the king of Gods, would be our principal. The Kalpavriksha, or the tree which grows precious gems, would be our Vice Principal, because she guides us in such a way that we do not need any materialistic gems, she is our gem.

Kama, the God of desire, would be our games class, which we always strive for. Whenever a teacher enters the class for substitution, we always ask her for games.

Mathematics would be Brahma, the creator, because without mathematics we cannot do anything in life. We don’t have any life. We need maths for sports, arts, computers and science too.

Science would be Vishnu, the preserver. Science is the subject of life, and Vishnu the God of life. The different avatars of Vishnu would be the branches of Science.

English would be Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth. If you do not know English, you don’t get a good job, no job, no money, you are poor.

Social Studies would be Shakti, the Goddess, strength and power. Social Science is a powerful subject, you can make strong opinions about a topic .

Hindi, nowadays, is a neglected just like Ganga, the sacred river – everyone wants Ganga jal*** but no one takes care of it. Everyone needs Hindi but no-one wants to develop it.

Lastly, the report card is Agni, the God of fire, which burns all our hard work to just a block with two-digit marks or an alphabet which shatters us and we start once again, so the report card is pralaya and the new life of ours after it is Matsya, the avatar of Vishnu which begins life on Earth.
